Whispers to the Earth
a poem
She puts her ear on the ground hoping to hear your steps it is tempting to lick the dirt she imagines feeling the coarseness of the earth in her mouth her tongue being coated with the minerals that hold this planet together this impulsive desire makes her feel alive she feels no shame she thrives in her animalistic musings. saliva pools she lets it drip down her chin they travel from her face to the soil as it dampens she hopes it reaches you.
